Our Green Initiatives:

• high-efficiency fluorescent light bulbs, saving 2,645 kilowatts of electrical energy each year, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1,375 pounds a year
• virtually paperless, and using integrated software to manage patient scheduling and billing, as well as clinical charting, and email contact
• using digital imaging system (xrays) that not only exposes patients to 75 to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays, it eliminates the need for toxic x-ray development chemicals and lead foils, which add more pollution to our landfills and further strain our water system
• eco-friendly sterilization program, which simultaneously eliminates the need for disposable auto¬clave wraps and disposable patient bibs (2011)
• use our community’s existing recycling program to separ¬ately recycle our cardboard, paper, plastic & aluminum
• use less harmful/eco friendly surface disinfectants/wipes *nonHazardous* (technology approved and certified by EcoLogo - Environmental Choice Program)
• Use liquid crystal display (LCD) instead of cathode ray tube (CRT) computer monitors, energy STAR efficient computer systems
• steam sterilizer eliminates the hazardous chemicals used in a chemical vapor sterilizer
• Alcohol hand sanitizers are becoming more popular and are used in place of soap and water when hands are not visibly soiled or contaminated. This reduces the number of paper towels used each day
• provide metal-free, esthetic smile treatments. They help eliminate the heavy metal waste associated with silver amalgam fillings that could end up in the main water supply
• paperless intra office communications, use email instead of "sticky notes"
